2024 | The time has come: METZ Energy Consulting GmbH was launched in mid-2024. Driven by his vision of actively accelerating the energy transition, Christof Metz is now making his extensive network and expertise directly available to project developers and investors. The goal: to lead complex projects to success through tailored consulting services.

Photovoltaic system on a club building in Karlstadt
On the roof of the Karlstadt bowling center, we have installed the largest rooftop photovoltaic system in the city to date, with a capacity of 185 kWp. The system, consisting of 425 modules, has been feeding green electricity into the grid since the beginning of the year, setting new standards for local club buildings.
2024 | Christof Metz has been contributing his expertise as a senior advisor at Capcora since 2024. In the areas of M&A and debt advisory, he supports project developers in complex sales processes (sell-side). His particular focus is on PV development projects, platform deals, and modern co-location projects including battery energy storage systems (BESS).

2023
2023 | In order to achieve optimal results even in complex contractual situations, Christof Metz completed the Executive Education Program at the renowned WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in 2023. The focus here was on professional negotiation skills. He now uses these honed skills to successfully represent his clients' interests in strategic discussions.
2022-
2024
2022 - 2024 | From 2022 to 2024, he worked at SENS / Iqony Energy Solutions at the interface between EPC, development, and operations. The focus was on acquiring construction-ready projects and building up an IPP portfolio. At the same time, he managed international transactions in Greece and Italy.
Power-to-Gas plant
A power-to-gas plant was built for Windgas Haßfurt GmbH, producing renewable hydrogen from surplus green electricity. The project enables the long-term storage of wind energy in the gas network and supplies around 20,000 customers with green gas. Furthermore, the plant actively stabilizes the electricity grid thanks to its rapid response time.
2015-
2020
2015 - 2020 | From 2015 to 2020, Christof Metz worked at SolarKapital in Frankfurt as a private equity investor focusing on solar energy. A key success here was the development of an M&A strategy for an O&M service provider, whose portfolio he scaled from 250 MW to over 1,500 MW. In addition, he was responsible for deal origination and designed tailor-made direct investment strategies for German family offices.
2013
2013 | In 2013, Christof Metz expanded his expertise to include strategic financial knowledge at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. As an M.Sc. in Management, he delved deeper into the areas of corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. Thematically, he remained loyal to the energy sector and highlighted the role of ‘YieldCos’ as investment vehicles.

2009
2009 | Christof Metz graduated with a degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) from the THWS Würzburg-Schweinfurt in 2009. As part of his mechanical engineering studies, he focused intensively on ‘power-to-gas’ technology. He thus began his career with a clear focus on innovative energy solutions.
